20 Jul 06 What I Will Be Doing Without Taking Summer Vacation

So I am attending Baker College Online, which I found on allonlineschools.net (see note). I attended the University of Washington for many years and then ran out of money. Since the job market has gotten tougher I find it more difficult to get the interview. I can almost always get a job I am qualified for if I can get in the door, but the thinly veiled “college dropout” on my resume was not helping.

As such I am persuing a Associates of Applied Science in Computer Programming. I have worked out the details and I should be done, attending half time (eight credits per quarter), by Fall 2008.

This is what the next two years hold for me:

Fall 2006

  • CIS 106A - Introduction to Operating System Concepts
  • CS 111 - Introduction to Programming

Winter 2007

  • CS 217A - C++ Programming
  • ENG 102 - Composition II

Spring 2007

  • CS 221 - Introduction to Java
  • CS 222 - Programming w/ Java

Summer 2007

  • CS 223 - Java Object Oriented Programming
  • PSY 101 - Human Relations

Fall 2007

  • SPK 201 - Oral Communications
  • CIS 331 - Database Management Using SQL

Winter 2008

  • CIS 251 - System Deveopment Methods
  • WRI 115 - Workplace Communications

Spring 2008

  • CIS 310 - Visual Basic
  • WRK 218 - Work Experience Project
  • WRK 219B - Professional Career Strategies

Summer 2008

  • 2 Electives

Fall 2008

  • 2 Electives

* Please note that I work for the company that produces allonlineschools.net. I did, however, use their directory to research schools and find the one I wanted to go to.

So, reading through the list of classes, I see that right about now you should be in the middle of Psych 101! Psych was my minor, and I imagine this is going to be a fun one for you, how’s it going?

Currently, I’m in a project management course on reading/interpreting construction documents. Dry but useful. :)

Well I kind of ran out of steam. The online class format was not working for me…

Add to that the relationship issues (now resolved) of the last eight months…
